SOCCER UEPA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 2017/18

On January 23, 2017 the Concacaf entity that regulates the continental competitions announced the change of format of the Champions League that will be effective from this edition whose reasons were due to the favoring of the clubs regarding the calendar of their respective national leagues including the Mexican League to contest the Conmebol Libertadores. The main novelty is the creation of the Concacaf League to be played in the first half of each season.In the Champions League of the CONCACAF 2018 will participate the champion of the League Concacaf 2017 the champions of Costa Rica El Salvador Guatemala Honduras and Panama the champion of the Championship of Club of the CFU the champion of Canada and four teams of Mexico and the United States.The elimination rounds system will be used from the round of 16 to the final all round format. In these encounters rule the visitor's goal rule that determines that the team that has scored the most visitors as a scorer wins the tie if there is a draw in the difference of goals. In case of the tie tied after the 180 'minutes of both matches will be played an extension of 30 minutes and if this ends without goals the series will be decided on a penalty shootout.For the knockout round the clubs that were drawn from Bombo 1 (listed first) will play as visitors first and then will be the hosts in the second leg.

The winners of the 1 3 5 and 7 series will host the return games of the quarterfinals. For the semi-finals, the clubs will be ranked according to their performance (points scored difference goals and goals scored) in the eighth and quarter-finals using the championship tiebreaker procedure.
The top-ranked club in each semifinal series will host the second leg. The same tiebreaker procedure will be applied to determine who will host the return leg of the finals.
